Аннотация: The study of evapotranspiration (ET) is significant to physical process controlled by a number of interconnected environmental and eco-hydrological factors in arid and semi-arid region of Mongolia. The main objective of the study is to estimate the spatially distributed actual evapotranspiration using remotely sensed data and to compare the results as determined with meteorological data and ground based point measurements. The Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Land surface temperature (LST) are drived from MODIS data, every 10-day averages climatic data, period full 3 years from 2001 to 2003 and ground pan measurement data of evapotranspiration only in growing season (May to September, 2003), pertaining to three meteorological stations located in Mongolian steppe are used in this analysis and model. We developed new simplified satellite based evapotranspiration estimation model in Mongolian steppe area based on physics of Bowen ratio classical method. The identified factors were related to physical processes influencing the evapotranspiration. The results of the study reveal that the variables, air, surface temperature, soil moisture, wind speed are those with the most influence in the evapotranspiration process in arid and semiarid environment of Mongolian steppe area. In this study we used satellite MODIS data in growing season, June-August, 2021 for testing developed new simplified satellite based evapotranspiration estimation model in Mongolian.
